Education Specific Training
We offer two trainings aimed at understanding Autism. We’ll explore differing environments, and how to offer support. The first of these training is an Introduction to Autism. The second training includes the Introduction to Autism session, but in a second session explores how your school can adapt your newfound knowledge to your own environment.
Intro to Autism
1 Session Training (90 mins)
A training aimed at understanding Autism and neurodivergence. We’ll explore differing environments, and how to offer support. These sessions are not child specific.
Autism at School: Skills & Strategies
2 Session Training (90 mins each)
Session 1 (Foundational):
Understanding Autism, neurodivergence and the experiences of Autistic people
Understanding how the autistic brain works, masking, communicating, sensory needs, and the best way to support these
Exploring different environments and how to offer support
Session 2 (Applied):
Session 2 applies the exercises and tools learnt from Session 1 to your school to see how you can adapt these tools to your own environment.
Participants will leave this session with practical tools they can implement immediately to better support children in the school’s care.
Tailored training packages can be arranged on a variety of topics including behaviour, sensory processing and ASC, social skills, communication ideas, and visual needs. Individual case consultancy and whole day inset options are also available.
Professional Training Packages
Below are just a few examples of the types of training we provide. All our training packages are designed to empower those working with autistic children and adults as well as the autistic community themselves.
Trainings are also designed to meet the needs of specific sectors e.g. Social Care, Education, Health.
Introductory Staff Training
One 90 minute twilight session general ASD training - which includes practical activities.
Interactive Staff Training
Two 90 minutes sessions - more like inset training - done over two twilight sessions. This can involve video reflection.
Staff Training & 1:1 Consultation
One 90 minute session plus a two hour consultation observing specific child and meeting with identified staff.
Whole Day Inset Training
This is a full day training that includes interactive games and case studies. This day gives staff more chances to think about specific children they work with.
Individually Tailored Training
Tailored training created by Dee Nic Sitric (CEO) in partnership with the school. This meets training needs including behaviour, sensory processing and ASD, social skills, communication ideas, visual.
Social Care Training Options
Training options for Social Care staff, designed to develop a deeper understanding and evidence base around neurodiversity with the aim of improving consistency and equality within Care Act, Care Programme Approach and s.17 Aftercare training duties.
Observation & Report Support
Observation & Report Writing
Initial observation in the home (and school setting) to provide and support implementation of recommendations.
Staff Training & 1:1 Consultation
